(4)狀語從句用法的要點

常用的引導連詞有because，as和since，三者的區別在于:回答問題時使用because；對于明顯的原因，常用as或since；as和since的從句往往放在主句之前，而because的從句往往放在主句之后。eg.

Why did you go？ I went because Tom told me to go. 你為什么要去？那是因為湯姆叫我去。

He was angry not because we were late but because we made a noise.

他很生氣，不是因為我們來晚了，而是因為我們發出了聲音。

As it was raining hard，we had to be indoors. 我們不得不呆在家里，因為雨太大了。

Since you feel ill，you'd better not go to work. 既然覺得不舒服，最好不要去上班。

(5)使用目的狀語從句的要點

常用的引導連詞有so that，that和in order that為此，目的是。eg.

Please speak more slowly so that we can make full notes. 慢一點，這樣我們就可以做詳細的筆記了。

I shall write down your address that I may not forget. 寫下你的地址，以免忘記。

I sent the letter by air mail in order that it might reach him in time. 我用航空信發了這封信，這樣他就能及時收到。

注：目的狀語從句可用動詞不定式代替目的狀語。eg.

We work harder than usual finish it in a week. 為了在一周內完成工作，我們比平時加倍努力。

第三，主句與從句時態一致。

在時間狀語從句和條件狀語從句中，主句和從句之間的時態一致性一般分為以下兩種情況：

1. 如果主句是祈使句，或者主句中有情感動詞，或者主句中的謂語動詞是一般的未來，那么從句就是一般的未來。

Be careful when you cross the road. 過馬路時要小心。

Put up your hand if you have any questions to ask. 如果你有問題要問，請舉手。

The traffic must stop when the lights are red. 車輛必須在紅燈亮的時候停下來。

2. 如果主從句的謂語動詞都是陳述過去的，那么主從句就可以用一般的過去。

She could sing when she was four years old. 她四歲時會唱歌。
