各有千秋。比如雕車這個詞，徐譯直接用雕車(carved cabs)，U譯用香車(scented chariots)，陶譯華車，裝飾華麗的車 (ornate carriages ) 。許譯對這個詞更忠實。寶馬的馬字，許譯和U譯英語詩中常用的馬字(steeds)，比較好。陶譯使用普通馬字(horses)。

鳳簫一詞，U譯用( Phoenix-cooing flutes)最好有鳳形和鳳聲。Cooing 是鳥類的蟑螂聲，也可以是人類的竊竊私語。想象一下，鳳笛聲動，發出鳥鳴，如情話之聲，多美啊。徐譯只是用笛子(flute)一字，不翻譯鳳字。陶譯用神奇的笛子(magic flute)而不是鳳字。

玉壺一詞，U玉壺翻譯和陶譯都翻譯成玉壺 (jade pot, jade urn)。更符合原作的含義。徐被翻譯成月亮。雖然有這樣的說法，但并不適合原作。因為根據精心制作的《武林舊事》。元夕:燈光產品很多。。。福州進的純白玉，耀眼如清水玉壺。。所以玉壺應該是白玉雕刻的燈。

暗香一詞，U譯成浮香(fragrance floating)，說香而不說是淡淡的香。陶譯成幽香(subtle perfume), 許譯成縷香(trials of scents)都很好。但如果根據林和靖詠梅詩：疏影橫斜水清淡，暗香飄浮月黃昏。暗香的形狀可以浮動。所以，如果U譯加一個字，改成暗香浮動(faint fragrance floating)，就貼切了。

暗香去去字，U過去翻譯陶器翻譯(passing, gone)不允許翻譯融入(melts into)好。

驀然回首一詞中的驀然，陶譯相對簡單，只用偶然(perchance )一字， U翻譯匆匆一瞥(only on a glance)，兩者都沒有表達突然這個詞的意思。徐譯成突然(when all at once), 最貼切了。

由此可見，詩歌的英文翻譯要簡潔、流暢、有節奏、詩意、恰當、忠于原著并不容易。
