W: Hi. I want to find a place to have supper. There are many restaurants in this area. It is difficult to decide which one to go to. When I choose a restaurant, I always take its nearby restaurants into consideration; it must be the super one among all of them.
M: It sounds reasonable. But it’s simpler for me to pick a restaurant as long as the restaurant is big enough and have seats available.
W: Oh, look! I think this one is pretty good.
M: It seems that the number of seats there is great.
W: OK. Let’s go.

W: Fine.
M: Another important building is the students’ union . To get to the students’ union you keep going down University Lane, past the Science Block on your left. Opposite the Science Block are the Chemistry labs and the students’ union is just on the right, next to Lab B.
W: Fine. But I get a bit confused about the directions.
M: Probably the best thing to do is to walk around and familiarize yourself with everything. Now I need you to fill in this form. Take it away with you and then make an appointment to see me again and we’ll go over it. My telephone number is on the form. You can ring me anytime, except on Thursday.

M: Attention please! Now I will give you a brief introduction to the Winter Festival. It is a free event for all people to enjoy, and is organized by a team of volunteers. The first Winter Festival was introduced the year before last. Sadly due to a lack of money no festival was held last year. This year the government may provide $15,000 to the festival. They also persuaded the businessmen around the town to offer the rest $5,000.
There will be a free art exhibition on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December in the Center Park of the town. The opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and there is an opening night only on Friday, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Different from other exhibitions, this art exhibition is really a special one because the public will have the chance to watch the paintings which are from the town’s school. And all the paintings are created by the students.
It is great that the Festival is going to host a wonderful sound of music in the Main Exhibition Hall this year. This programme aims to show some of the musical talents that we have in town. Everyone watching the performance had better not wear formal clothes, but fancy dress.
